None of this is legal or financial advice of any kind.
Preparation for your death may seem gloomy at first but is necessary. After you are gone, it ensures that your legacy stays in the right hands. As the world is becoming more digital by the hour, most of this legacy will be a bunch of emails and passkeys/words (LOL).
But it’s not just succession of your wealth that matters, we need to ensure that your ideas stay behind as well. Forming a strong family culture is a good start.
Generational Wealth
Its one thing to build wealth for generations, its another to preserve it. Your heirs must have the required tools and the correct mindset to do that.
Your children must:
Produce, not consooom.
Be financial literate & have strong business acumen. (this will include btc & lightening education as well - drafting a 101 rn, bitcoin will become money, its just a question of when)
They shouldn't take the wealth for granted (make them work for it)
Family Culture
Creating a Culture of Family differentness:
family Motto
A sentence that helped you move forward in life, that symbolizes what you stand for and something that would inspire your children to manifest the life they want. I can’t decide this for you and no online list can give you this sentence. It could be a line from a poem that you read in your childhood, could be from a book that you read, heck can be from a show or even from a YouTube video that you enjoyed the most.
One thing that you have to ensure is, it should be simple, remember able, extra points if it has some melody in it.
family Crest
Every nation has a flag - a symbol that its citizens can look up to and call their own. A picture is worth a thousand words. It should have a frame. A word or 2 at the bottom. And some animals maybe? I don’t know - I am not an expert on family crests lol. Google brave search it & figure it out.
family Genealogy
Heard about family tree’s? Well its time to make one of yours. Recording names, places of birth, main achievements, faces, where they come from and where they went.
You may have to visit offices and places that keep records of births if you don’t have enough history inside your head.
In terms of software, I hear good things about Gramps.
Family Constitution
Well if you want to go to the extremes, you can draft a constitution. The lines your progenies can’t cross, the order matters & amendments via bill propositions by the family is welcomed with open arms.
Traditional Will
It’s always better to first do some research and then consult a good attorney to draft the wills and form a family trust, protection of your assets and the inheritance of it will depend on these the most.
A good resource is this site https://eforms.com/wills/
“A last will and testament or will is a legal document outlining how an individual (testator) wants to transfer their assets after death. It also appoints who will manage the estate during the probate process (personal representative) and guardians for minor children and pets.”
Living Will
Health Care Directive
“A living will or health care directive allows a person (principal) to create end-of-life treatment preferences. The main purpose of a living will is used to direct medical staff on whether to provide or remove life-sustaining procedures.
A living will only becomes effective if a person is deemed to have a terminal or incurable condition.”

Living Trust
“A living trust is a legal document that allows an individual (grantor) to place assets under the management of a trustee, who can be the grantor or another party. The trustee is responsible for safeguarding the trust’s assets during the grantor’s lifetime. The trust’s assets will be transferred to the beneficiaries upon the grantor’s death.”
4 Roles
Grantor. The individual creating and funding the trust.
Trustee. Manages the trust’s assets during the grantor’s lifetime (often the same person as the grantor).
Successor Trustee. Manages the trust’s assets if the trustee dies or becomes incapacitated. Commonly, the successor trustee’s role is to distribute and transfer the trust’s assets to the beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries. Individuals (or organizations) that receive the trust’s assets.

You should record yourself reading the will and clearing any doubts.
Books
Must-read books that will provide a foundation for your children’s minds. A one page “Ideas toolkit” is a nice resource you can give your progenies.
Digital Vault
A vault in your bank containing:
Password to your main computer & password Managers.
Hard drives and/or pen drives containing important media.
Backups online
Data Release Plan
All important email and passwords
Password manager access
2FA codes
Pass keys & Hardware keys.
Social Media Accounts
Data Destruction Plan

Bitcoin & Wallets
I am pretty sure that all coins are shit coins except bitcoin, and eventually USD will be competed by it and monero has a new contender called lightening.
You need to ensure:
Wallet recovery (Future Proof Storage)
Top tier Tax structure
Contingency Plans
DIY open source software wallets locked with hardware keys, non-kyc’d, non-ip’d, multi-sig & one backup key with your trusted fren.
Home Server
I think any death planning needs a home server that you control from the ground up. This will be a central hub of your home security as well.
5 pillars of Security Infra
Security System
Media Lab {unraid?}
Bitcoin Node (and other btc related software) {Permanode?}
Home Services {yunohost}
